Happy Birthday Trina!

This year Trina spends her birthday in Tokyo. Otanjoubi omedetou!

We’ve been friends such a long time. Even though we don't get together all that often, when we do it's like we've never been apart.

To celebrate, I thought to share just a few of my fond memories of Trina...

...ah, this is going to be fun.

Let us begin with the Hamlet Rap that neither of us shall ever forget. I think we both still have the T-shirts we made, though we surely don't remember the entire soliloquy we rapped.

Shortly after that well-reviewed performance (we got an 'A') was our first prom. Trina loves to reminisce about her very 80's dress - I thought it was so pretty.

For the Winter Ball, she decided to go more demure. Her date, David, took this photo of us with my date, Lee. This party was so boring and not to any of our tastes. There was bad music with people chanting, "Shit! Goddamn! Get on your feet and jam!" - so we left after taking some goofy pictures in the lobby, like this one.

Now this next one was taken while we were both in college. I'd come back for the summer and we met up in Milpitas at the bank she was working at. She was so "together" and polished! She was perfect. I remember being really impressed.

Fast forward a decade to 1999. Trina had set up a beautiful home in San Francisco and I went to see her while visiting from Italy. I brought my son and my mother-in-law and we made pasta and had a great time.

There are so many more good times than what I can show here - high school times, my first SF apartment, visiting her in Ohio, her wedding to Dick last October, hanging out together throughout the years... and more to come!
